About the role

We're looking for an experienced operational leader to lead our picking, packing and inventory teams through an exciting period of change.

This role is responsible for delivering a safe, efficient, and high-performing operation across the picking, packing and inventory team. As we evolve our operating model from traditional FLT-based picking to a more agile floor-picking approach, the role will play a key part in embedding new ways of working, improving productivity, and creating an environment where people can perform at their best.

Success in this role is not just about achieving results, but about how those results are delivered. We are looking for an individual who can support the Operations Director to build capability, trust, and empower the team. This individual will have a strong shop floor presence, creating a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.

Direct Reports - Inventory Manager - FLM Outbound X 2 (AM and PM)

Experience
  • Proven leadership experience in a warehouse, logistics or distribution environment.
  • Experience in leading managers and developing management capability.
  • Track record of delivering operational results through people.
  • Experience leading operational change and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Duties and Responsibilities

    Lead Through People
  • Lead, coach and develop our teams to deliver a consistently high performing operation.
  • Build management capability by providing regular coaching, support and challenge.
  • Create an engaged, positive and accountable culture where people feel valued and supported.
  • Ensure performance expectations are clear and teams are recognised for success.
  • Build capability for the future, supporting succession planning.


  • Drive Operational Performance
  • Deliver warehouse performance across safety (working alongside the Health and Safety, Quality and Environmental Manager), service, quality, productivity and cost to serve.
  • Use data and operational insight to identify opportunities and solve problems quickly.
  • Support the delivery of business objectives through effective planning and execution.
  • Ensure resources are aligned to operational priorities.


  • Lead Change and Continuous Improvement
  • Support the transition to a more efficient and agile operating model, including increased floor
  • picking activity.
  • Challenge existing processes and identify better ways of working.
  • Work closely with management to embed new behaviours, standards and operating practices.
  • Encourage a culture of continuous improvement across the operation.

  • Champion a strong safety first culture.
  • Ensure all warehouse activities are carried out safely and in line with Company policies and procedures.
  • Lead by example and promote high standards of compliance and operational discipline.
